From big band and swing to Latin, jazz and funk, music comes alive at the 11th Annual Jump, Jive & Wail. Some of the area's most gifted high school musicians are putting together a special night of live music, dancing, food, and fun activities, all to benefit a good cause - the music program at the Charleston County School of the Arts.
Since making its debut in 1999, Jump, Jive & Wail has grown to attract well over 1,000 people each year. The event features a 24-member jazz ensemble under the direction of Basil Kerr, high school band director for Charleston County School of the Arts. Mr. Kerr has been recognized as one of the leading high school band directors in the nation. The School of the Arts Jazz Band and its members have established a reputation as being among the state's best, having earned numerous superior and superior plus ratings as well as seats in the prestigious All-State Jazz Band.
Tickets include heavy hors d'oeuvres, drinks and great music. The community is invited to attend. All ages are welcome.
